Launching ceremony of the EmpowerHer Programme by African Resource Group -Cameroon Ltd took place on the 7th of March 2024 at the Duchess car Park and wash Buea Town. This event was attended by women group leaders and stakeholders involved in women’s empowerment
MODE OF OPERATION
On International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8 and this year, under the theme “Invest in Women; accelerate Progress, ARG-CAM launched the EmpowerHer Programme . The programme objectives include:
1. Celebrate the achievements of women across various sectors.
2. Raise awareness about gender equality and women’s rights.
3. Foster a sense of unity and solidarity among women and allies.
4. Inspire action towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society., Within the context of the EmpowerHer programme, ARG-CAM celebrated IWD 2024 by organizing a Workshop on Capacity Building and Financial Literacy as Tools to Maximize Inclusion and Success of Women and Youths in Agriculture and Agribusiness.
Activities included:
Expert lectures and Panel Discussions:
Organize panel discussions and lecture featuring prominent female leaders, and experts Facilitate networking to connect women from diverse backgrounds and create opportunities for collaboration and support.
Policy Advocacy: Advocate for policy changes that promote gender equality and women’s rights. ARG-CAM recognizes the immense contributions that African women have made in agriculture while also highlighting and addressing the unique challenges they face.Several women groups and youth entrepreneurs in agriculture/agribusiness within Buea Sub-Division attended the workshop in Buea, on the 7th of March, 2024, to learn how financial literacy and proper use of the available agricultural extension services could improve their agricultural production and enhance the value of their products and drive business growth.
